6 Men Who Are Doing Great Things in Their Senior Years

Some people assume becoming a senior citizen means slowing down. If your loved one has a medical condition or limited mobility that makes it challenging for him or her to complete daily tasks, consider hiring a professional caregiver. Boca Raton senior care experts are available to provide high-quality care to seniors on an as-needed basis. From assistance with mobility and exercise to providing transportation to the doctor’s office and social events, there are a variety of ways professional caregivers can help your aging loved one continue to live independently.

These six men continue to remain productive well into their golden years. From politics to entertainment, each one of these men is well over the age of 65 and still going strong. Share their accomplishments with your senior loved one to inspire him or her.

 1. Clint Eastwood

Actor, director, and political activist Clint Eastwood turns 87 in 2017, but he remains one of the biggest names in Hollywood. Over the last few years, he has produced and directed major blockbusters like American Sniper, Sully, and Jersey Boys. American Sniper was nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards in 2015.

2. Mick Jagger

At 73, British rocker Mick Jagger remains one of the biggest music stars in the world. Over the last few years, he has formed a new music group, hosted Saturday Night Live, and co-produced a movie and TV show. In 2017, he has plans to tour with The Rolling Stones. Not only is Jagger still making music, he also became a father for the eighth time in 2016.

3. Bernie Sanders

Trump wasn’t the only male senior who made a splash in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Bernie Sanders, a 75-year-old senator from Vermont, came close to beating Hillary Clinton in the Democratic nomination. Sanders is the longest-serving Independent politician in American history. Despite his loss in 2016, Sanders show no signs of slowing down. He started his own webcast and two political organizations in 2016.

4. Anthony Kennedy

In 1987, President Ronald Reagan appointed Anthony Kennedy to the Supreme Court, and today, at 80 years old, he maintains that position. However, he does more than try court cases. During summers, Kennedy teaches American and International Law at a university in Austria. He also spends his downtime as a proponent of American prison reform.

5. Morgan Freeman

At 79 years old, actor Morgan Freeman may have one of the most recognizable voices in the world. Even though he did not achieve fame until his late 30s and early 40s, Freeman has had a celebrated acting career. He has starred in dozens of films, television shows, and plays, and he has also narrated numerous productions. Despite his age, he makes several public appearances and stars in at least two or three films a year.

6. Stephen King

Writer Stephen King will be 70 in 2017, but his age probably won’t affect his prolific writing career. He has written over 56 novels that have sold over 350 million copies, which doesn’t include his collections of short stories and nonfiction work. In 2017 he will be releasing two novels and another collection of short stories.

Share these stories with your senior loved one and inspire him or her to stay active and productive for as long as possible. However, if your loved one has a medical condition or limited mobility, think about hiring a professional caregiver.
